Original Art for Sale

One of my favourite things to do is to travel to RAF Coningsby and watch my favourite aircraft flying in and out of the base. The Eurofighter Typhoon is such a powerful, agile aircraft and watching them undertake a "Performance Take-Off" never gets old. Brakes off to 60 degree climb in under 8 seconds... and less than 30 seconds later it can be supersonic! I drew this piece to celebrate the PTO's. I only wish I could draw "noise", too!

This is my abstract representation of our much missed, beautiful Queen, Elizabeth II. I chose pinks and purples for this piece, as those colours are "Royal", to my eyes.

What do you get if you cross a Jaguar XJR-14 with a Porsche? The 1996 and 1997 Le Mans winning WSC95! This car won 2 World Sportscar races as a Jaguar, and then won Le Mans twice! This "Monday Doodle" shows the car in 97 livery, with iconic drivers Stefan Johansson, Tom Kristensen and, in car, the late, great Michele Alboreto.

1990 was the last year of the fire-breathing Ford RS500's in the BTCC and Andy Rouse was my hero... so I felt compelled to draw his gorgeous, but ultimately unsuccessful (by his standards) ICS sponsored car. 

A simple (but not all that simple!) side elevation showing that iconic rear wing!

This pencil drawing is part of my popular "Circuit Racer" series, where I frame a car within the circuit layout of where that car became interesting! In this case, it's the Ueno Clinic McLaren F1 GTR which won the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours. There have been many versions of the Circuit de la Sarthe, but this is the correct layout for the year an icon was born..

Remember who won the 1979 French GP? You DO? You must be a true fan, because most people remember a titanic battle for 2nd place between Rene Arnoux in a Renault and Gilles Villeneuve in a Ferrari!

Elbows out, no quarter asked and certainly none given. These two legends dived, drifted and banged wheels on their way into F1 folklore. One of THE great races!

Max V on his way to victory in the 2025 Japanese GP, onboard the specially liveried Red Bull RB21.

Thus is a "From the Fence" piece, drawn as if you were at the track, having paid your hard-earned cash to watch your heroes.

"R7" finished 4th overall at Le Mans in 1973, beaten only by cars which were to all intents and purposes, F1 cars with a body on! This heroic little Porsche is an icon and looks stunning in its Martini stripes and Orange bumpers.

This piece is a "Monday Doodle", where I draw the whole picture in one long, hand-killing day!

F1 in the 1970's seemed to attract some wild designs and the Tyrrell P34 was right up there in the crazy stakes, with its tiny front wheels being dwarfed by the huge rears. For all the aerodynamic benefits of a smaller frontal area, the car was hampered by a lack of tyre development, as the team was the only one to use a double front axle and that size of tyre. It did not prevent them from being fast and spectacular though! Here, Patrick Depailler and Ronnie Peterson dance on their tiptoes, in two perfect 6-wheel drifts!

Sketches of the Unexceptional is my take on the "My Dad had one of those!" conversations we petrolheads have, and has been influenced by the Festival of the Unexceptional, a car show like no other - celebrating the ordinary, daily transport we all took for granted.

First up, the Vauxhall Cavalier MkII. Yep, my Dad had one of those!

M. Schumacher. Jordan 191. Belgian GP, Spa Francorchamps.

In a stirring debut in F1, replacing the incarcerated Bertrand Gachot, MSC qualified 7th in the gorgeous Jordan 191, only to burn his clutch out on the way to the grid! The world had witnessed something special, however... and Flavio Briatore fought Eddie Jordan and won the young German's signature for the rest of the '91 season, and beyond. A legend was born...

Frank Stella was the second artist commissioned to create a BMW Art Car and this striking design was the result. The car raced in 1976 at the Le Mans 24 Hours and this drawing will form part of my 2027 calendar "24 Hour Arty Cars"!

Liam Gallagher. The face of Britpop and a voice familiar to millions.

I'm a fan and wanted to capture his stage presence, and attempted to do so in my mildly abstract style, which perhaps is apt.

This "Monday Doodle"illustrates the Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan which won the Silver Cup in the 2025 edition of the brilliant Bathurst 12 Hours. This car has one of the most striking liveries in modern day motorsport and I had to create a drawing of it. As with all my Monday Doodles, I've highlighted a portion of the livery in colour - but not too much (your imagination can do the rest!).
